Lionel Andrès Messi Cuccittini, born 24 June 1987 , is the current Argentine captain of FC Barcelona and the National Team of Argentina and considered as one of the 2 Best Players in the World since 13 years and so regarded as one of the 3 greatest Players of all time in the Football History !
Born in Rosario, Messi’s talent was quickly noticed by Newell’s Old Boys Club but he was diagnosed with a growth hormone deficiency . So at age 13, he joined Spain and FC Barcelona where the club took in charge the medical treatment. His quick progression in the youth Academy let him begin aged 17 in october 2004 his first team career with FC Barcelona ! He spent his entire professional career with FC Barcelona and won a Club Record of 34 Trophies, including 10 LaLiga titles, 4 UEFA Champions League titles and 6 Copa del Rey ! Playmaker and Goal Scorer, Lionel Messi scored (at 20 november 2019) 427 LaLiga goals in 459 matches and in total 623 goals in 730 matches ! He holds the record of the most goals in LaLiga and many other records in Europe and the World.

He won 5 BALLON D’OR and 1 FIFA BEST PLAYER, 6 European GOLDEN SHOE, 9 IFFHS Awards (3 Best Playmaker, 4 Top Division Goal Scorer, 2 International Goal Scorer), 3 UEFA Best Player Awards, 6 Pichichi Spain Top Goal Scorer Trophies, 8 LaLiga Best Player Trophies, was selected each year since 2007 in the FIFPRO World’s Best Team and the UEFA Team of the Year, received the FIFA World Cup Golden Ball and the COPA AMERICA Golden Ball and many more Awards in the World.

Successor of Maradona in Argentina, Messi became the youngest Argentine to play and score in a FIFA World Cup in 2006. He reached the final of the Copa America in 2007 and was named Best Young Player. As captain of the National Team since 2011, he led his team to 3 consecutive finals, the 2014 World Cup (where he was named Best Player) and the 2015 and 2016 Copa America. He never won a final, this is his only regret in his career . He played 138 matches and scored 70 goals with the National Team of Argentina, finishing at the third place in the Copa America 2019.
