Baghdad Bounedjah, Second African to Win the Title !
Baghdad Bounedjah : 7 goals for Algeria and 13 for Al Sadd Doha
Algerian Baghdad Bounedjah of Al-Sadd Doha won the Award for The World’s Best International Top Goal Scorer for 2018 with 20 goals. He scored 7 international goals for Algeria, and 13 for Al-Sadd in AFC Champions League. He is followed by 4 players with 15 goals each; Belgium’s Romelu Lukaku of Manchester United, Moroccan Ayoub El Kaabi of RS Berkane, Egyptian Mohamed Salah of Liverpool and French Antoine Griezmann of Atlético Madrid.
Bounedjah if the 2nd African to clinch the title after Congolese Tresor M’putu Mabi of TP Mazembe Lumumbashi who scored the same record, 20 goals, in 2007. With 32 goals , Portugese Cristiano Ronaldo still holds the record for most international goals in a year, and he is the only player to win the title 4 times (2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017).
Romelu Lukaku scored most country goals in 2018; he scored 14 goals for Belgium, and is followed by Serbian Aleksandar Mitrović with 12 and Moroccan Ayoub El Kaabi with 11. Africans scored most on club level, with Congolese Jean-Marc Makusu Mundele scoring 14 goals for AS Vita Club, Baghdad Bounedjah 13 for Al-Sadd and Moroccan Mahmoud Benhalib 13 for Raja Casablanca.
Baghdad Bounedjah won the Award for The World’s Best International Top Goal Scorer 2018, but he scored also the most goals in the year 2018 in the World with 59 goals (national competition included), more than Lionel Messi (51) and Cristiano Ronaldo (49)
