PRESENTATION
José Mario dos Santos Mourinho Felix, born 26 January 1963 in Setubal, is a Portuguese top level football coach and former player, who won 25 major Trophies with his clubs in four different countries and was crowned 4 times THE WORLD’S BEST CLUB COACH by IFFHS , Portuguese Coach of the Century by PFP and is regarded as one of the greatest managers of all-time!
He began a player career in Rio Ave in 1980, playing 16 matches (2 goals) in two years before going to Belenenses (1982/83), where he scored also 2 goals in 16 matches as midfielder. In 1983, he joined Sesimbra, where he made 35 matches (1 goal) in two years (1983 – 1985) and finished his player career in Comercio e Industria in 1985 until 1987 with 27 matches and 8 goals.
Following this uneventful career as player, José Mourinho worked initially as an interpreter for Sir Bobby Robson ,the english coach, at Sporting CP and FC Porto in Portugal.Quickly his knowledge let him be assistant of Robson and then Louis Van Gaal at FC Barcelona. So he went alone and impressed with brief managerial periods at Benfica (2000) and Uniao de Leiria (2001/02) where his success opened him the door to return to FC Porto as Head Coach in 2002 ! Between 2002 and 2004, he won there 2 Primera Liga (2002/03, 2003/04), 1 Taça de Portugal (2002/03), the UEFA Cup 2002/03 and above all the UEFA Champions League 2003/04, the first European Cup title for FC Porto since 1987. He was so elected by IFFHS THE WORLD’S BEST CLUB COACH 2004.

His success earned him a move to England with FC Chelsea in 2004. Until 2007, Mourinho won the Premier League title twice (2004/05, 2005/06), the FA Cup 2006/07, the Football League Cup twice (2004/05, 2006/07) and the FA Community Shield 2005 ! The club had won in this three years more titles than in his history ! He was so crowned Best Manager in Premier League, but also THE WORLD’S BEST CLUB COACH 2005 by IFFHS.

In 2008, he joined then Italy and FC Inter Milan. Between 2008 and 2010, he won two Serie A titles (2008/09, 2009/10), one Coppa Italia 2009/10, one Supercoppa Italiana 2008 and above all the UEFA Champions League 2009/10 ! A fantastic Treble (Serie A, Coppa Italia, UEFA Champions League) in 2010 with Inter, which made him one of five coaches to have won the European Champions Cup with two different teams (Carlo Ancelotti, Ernst Happel, Ottmar Hitzfeld, Jupp Heynckes are the other coaches). He was again elected Serie A Manager of the year , FIFA World Coach and by IFFHS as THE WORLD’S BEST CLUB COACH 2010 !

He signed then with Real Madrid in 2010, where he won the Copa del Rey 2010/11, the Supercopa de Espana 2012 and the La Liga title 2011/12, breaking the record of the total of points in one season ! This title made him to be the fifth coach to have won league titles in four different countries ( the other coaches are Giovanni Trappatoni, Carlo Ancelotti, Ernst Happel and above all Tomislav Ivic with 6 titles in 6 countries)! He was again elected by IFFHS as THE WORLD’S BEST CLUB COACH 2012 !
Mourinho left Madrid in 2013 and returned to Chelsea, where he won another Premier League title 2014/15 and another Football League Cup 2014/15 ! He was dismissed in 2015 after poor results and was then appointed at Manchester United in 2016. He won immediately the UEFA Europa League 2016/17, the EFL Cup 2016/16 and the FA Community Shield 2016, leading the team to second place in the Premier League, the best result since 2013. But he did not win any Trophy ans was dismissed in December 2018.
José Mourinho works currently as consultant at TV before accepting maybe another challenge as manager in the World of football.
