Lothar Matthaus, the last of the 3 IFFHS Awards “THE WORLD’S BEST FOOTBALLER” . Marco Van Basten (1988 and 1989) and Lothar Matthaus (1990) won the 3 IFFHS Awards.
IFFHS voted for 3 AWARDS in 1990. It was the last time for THE WORLD’S BEST FOOTBALLER, because FIFA with General Secretary Sepp Blatter asked the IFFHS to conduct this Award for THE FIFA WORLD PLAYER from 1991.
