PRESENTATION
Saeed Al Owairan, born on 19 August 1967 in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), began his youth career with Al-Shabab FC Riyadh with sixteen years old.
He joined the professional team of Al-Shabab in 1988 and played there 598 matches, scoring 238 goals until 2001. He won with Al-Shabab 3 Saudi League titles ( 1990-91, 1991-92, 1992-93), 2 Gulf Club Cups ( 1993, 1994) , 2 Arab Club Cups ( 1992, 1999), 3 Saudi Crown Prince Cups ( 1993, 1996, 1999) and one Cup of Asian Cups( 2001). He was also runner-up at the AFC Champions League final 1992
In 1993, he won the IFFHS Award The World’s Best Top Goal Scorer of the Year, scoring the most goals with his club and his country in international matches.
Al Owairan has great years to become Saudi league top scorer 1991-92, Arab Player of the Year 1993 , Best Saudi player 1993 and Best Asian Player of the Year 1994.
In the Saudi national football team , he played 75 matches, scoring 24 goals from 1991 until 1998. He won with Saudi national football team the Arab Gulf Cup 1994 and participated at two World Cups, 1994 in USA and 1998 in France. In 1994 in USA, he entered in the history of the WORLD CUP ALL TIME, scoring against Belgium one of the more fantastic goals ever !
