PRESENTATION
Dennis Bergkamp, born on 10 May 1969 in Amsterdam(Netherlands), began his youth career with FC Ajax in 1981 before joining the professional team of Ajax in 1986 .He played there 237 matches, scoring 122 goals until 1993. He won with Ajax one Eredivisie title ( 1989–90), 2 KNVB Cups (1986–87, 1992–93) , one European Cup Winners’ Cup ( 1986–87) and one UEFA Cup ( 1991–92).
He won the Award Dutch Football Talent of the Year 1990 and became Eredivisie Top Scorer of 1990–91, 1991–92, 1992–93 .
He received the IFFHS World’s Top Goal Scorer Award of the Year 1992 and became also Dutch Footballer of the Year ( 1991, 1992), UEFA European Football Championship Top Scorer 1992 , Ballon d’Or – Runner-up 1993 and Third place in 1992 .
He joined Inter Milan in 1993 and played there 74 matches, scoring 22 goals until 1995. He won with Inter Milan the UEFA Cup 1993–94 and became UEFA Cup Top Scorer 1993–94.
He joined Arsenal London in 1995 and played there 423 matches, scoring 120 goals until 2006. He won with Arsenal 3 Premier League titles (1997–98, 2001–02, 2003–04), 4 FA Cups (1997–98, 2001–02, 2002–03, 2004–05) and 3 FA Charity/Community Shield ( 1998, 2002, 2004).
In the Dutch national football team , Dennis Bergkamp played 79 matches, scoring 37 goals from 1990 until 2000. He participated at two WORLD CUPS 1994 in USA and 1998 in France, and two UEFA Euros in 1996 and 2000. He reached never more than the semi finals 1998 and 2000, date of his retirement from international football.
He never wanted to move into coaching but in 2011, he was named assistant of Head Coach De Boer in his first club FC Ajax and stayed there until 2017.
