PRESENTATION
Iker Casillas Fernandes, born 20 May 1981 in Mostoles, plays since 20 years at the highest level in the World and is one of the greatest Goalkeepers in the History, being the only Goalkeeper in the World to win 5 consecutive IFFHS Awards of THE WORLD’S BEST GOALKEEPER and winning the greatest team Trophies in the World (FIFA World Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Euro, UEFA Champions League) with Real and Spain.

Casillas began his youth career with Real Madrid in 1990 at 9 years. Step by step he gained promotion before playing his first match with the senior team the 11 September 1999 in Bilbao. He remained with the club for 16 seasons (1999 to 2015) and played 725 matches with Real in this period, winning 5 La Liga titles (2000/01, 2002/03, 2006/07, 2007/08, 2011/12), 2 Copa del Rey (2010/11, 2013/14), 4 Supercopa de Espana (2001, 2003, 2008, 2012) and especially 3 UEFA Champions League (1999/2000, 2001/02, 2013/14), 2 UEFA Super Cup (2002, 2014), one FIFA Club World Cup (2014) and two FIFA Intercontinental Cups (1998, 2002).

With his 725 matches, the second most in history of Real Madrid, he served a long time as captain and he won in this time five consecutive IFFHS Awards of THE WORLD’S BEST GOALKEEPER 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 ! The World record of the IFFHS Awards History ! In 2015, he joined FC Porto on a free transfer and he is currently the Goalkeeper of the team, already winning one Primera Liga (2017/18) and one Supertaça Candido de oliveira title (2018), playing until now 160 matches.

Since June 2000, Iker Casillas has also played for Spain’s National Team where he was capped 167 times between 2000 and 2016 ! With Spain he won first in the youth categories the UEFA U16 Euro 1997 and the FIFA World Youth Championship 1999 before to be crowned as captain Winner of the UEFA Euros 2008 and 2012 as well as the FIFA World Cup 2010 ! The consecration for “San Iker” who is widely considered as the greatest Goalkeeper in the new Century with Gianluigi Buffon. In 2014, he became one of 4 players to represent Spain at four FIFA World Cups (2002, 2006, 2010, 2014).

He was nominated for the BALLON D’OR 2008 (4th place), won the 5 IFFHS Awards , was crowned Best Goalkeeper in Spain twice, in Europe ( 6 times in UEFA Team), in the FIFPRO team 5 times. He received the FIFA Golden Glove 2010 and has played until today over 1000 professional matches. He holds many records : most consecutive seasons in the Champions League (20), first goalkeeper to win 100 Champions League matches, Youngest Goalkeeper to win a Champions League final (19 years, 4 days), most clean sheets in the UEFA Champions League (57), Most appearances in UEFA Club competitions (188), most international clean sheets (102) .He was decorated with the Gold Medal of the Royal Order of Sports Merit in 2010 and the Royal Order in 2015.
